The shins, particularly the right one now, are keeping me from an increase in mileage. The end of my run today was because of a sharp pain on the right shin. Ouch! I hobbled home and just iced.
Nevertheless, I am still running and bettering my times:
Sunday: 4 miles in 41 minutes
Monday: 3.6 miles in 36:30
Tuesday: 3.7 miles in 35 minutes
Perhaps a rest day for my shins soon, we will see.
Until then...I battle on!
Okay, I am 7 for 7 this month and am doing 1.75 each time out. On Sunday I only did a mile, but played an hour of tennis afterwards. I am hoping I won't fall victim to the shin splints, however I started feeling a little pain today. My wind is feeling pretty good and I may be increasing to 2 miles soon.
ReplyDeletekeep it up guys! way to go.
ReplyDeleteThere are good info out there on shin splints. The first palce to start is a good fit running shoe. Fleetfeet syracuse will fit anyone in a perfect show. I used to wear Reeboks and had shin splints all the time 4 years ago when I started. I then switched to Brooks and have a more comfortable fit and havent had shin splints since.
were under a week till race day...now its time to back off and rest up and execute...see you race day! I am gonna try and push through the pain for one mroe race...
ReplyDeleteThanks Vin and Rock, keep up the good work! Keep me posted.
